Why do we gain fat?

Basically, it’s because we’re eating too much. People don’t want to believe this, but you gain weight because you eat more calories than you’re burning. If you want to lose fat, you need to eat fewer calories than you’re burning. If you consume just 50 calories a day more than you burn—that’s one Oreo cookie—over a year you’ll gain about five pounds.
